Loop Dental Co is a group of dental practices in South Australia, and home of Loop Academy, our graduate dental program. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why we collect it, and how we look after it.
We follow the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988. This policy covers this website. If you are a patient of one of our practices, your practice will explain how it handles your health information.
What we collect
We only collect what you choose to send us, plus the basic technical details every website receives.
- Enquiry form. Your first name, phone number, email address, profession, and anything you write in the additional information box.
- Newsletter. Your email address, the date you signed up, and a scrambled form of your network (IP) address. The scrambled form cannot be turned back into your address; it only lets us show that the signup came from this website.
- Server logs. Like every website, our server records each visit: your IP address, browser type, the pages you request and when. These logs do not tell us who you are.
You can browse the site without telling us who you are. To answer an enquiry we need a way to contact you, so the form asks for your name and email address.
We do not use analytics or advertising cookies. If we add analytics later, we will update this policy first and say what it collects.
Why we collect it
- To reply to your enquiry and talk with you about Loop Academy or our practices.
- To send you our newsletter, if you sign up. Every newsletter has a way to unsubscribe, or you can email us.
- To keep the website secure and working, for example to stop spam and misuse.
We do not use your information for anything else without asking you first.
Who sees it
Your enquiry goes to the Loop Dental Co and Loop Academy staff who handle enquiries. Our website hosting and email providers store and carry it for us, and may only use it to provide that service.
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We only share it with anyone else if you agree, or if the law requires it.
Overseas disclosure
We do not intend to send your personal information overseas. Our website hosting and email are provided in Australia.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries: for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry and any follow-up, then we delete them.
- If our email fails at the moment you send an enquiry, we keep a copy of your enquiry on our web server for up to 30 days, so it is not lost, and then delete it.
- Newsletter: your email address and signup record (the date and the scrambled network address) until you unsubscribe. When you unsubscribe, we take you off the list and delete your signup record.
- Server logs: for a short time, to keep the site secure, before they are deleted by our host.
How we keep it safe
This website uses an encrypted connection (https), so what you send through the forms is protected on its way to us. Only the people who need your information can see it, and we take reasonable steps to protect it from misuse, loss and unauthorised access.
Access and correction
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it. Email academy@loopdental.co. We will reply within 30 days, and there is no charge.
Making a complaint
If you are worried about how we have handled your personal information, please email academy@loopdental.co and tell us what happened. We will look into it and reply within 30 days.
If you are not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
